The Tall Ships Races 2025 will take the majestic Tall Ships fleet through the English Channel and North Sea to Le Havre, Dunkirk, Aberdeen, Kristiansand and Esbjerg…

The event will start on Friday 4 July and continue through until Saturday 9 August, with four races and a scenic Cruise-in-Company. With Host Ports from four countries – France, UK, Norway and Denmark – The Tall Ships Races 2025 will take in all the English Channel and North Sea region has to offer.

We’re delighted to welcome these five Host Ports, who each have a fantastic history hosting world-class maritime events. The Tall Ships Races always provide the perfect opportunity to take part in some great sailing and embark on the adventure of a lifetime at sea. They bring together people of different nationalities, religions and cultures and visit a range of international ports, promoting international friendship and understanding.

LE HAVRE

Le Havre was the final port of the Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta and it closed the prestigious event in dramatic style with over 100,000 visitors enjoying the final day of celebrations. We are delighted to return to the city after 8 years as the start port of the race series.

DUNKIRK

The Tall Ships Races 2025 will mark the first time that Dunkirk has hosted a Tall Ships Races event, and this coastal Commune which brings together history, natural beauty and contemporary art will act as the perfect finish port for Race One.

ABERDEEN

Aberdeen is Scotland’s third largest city, the capital of the Northeast, and a centre for maritime excellence. The city has hosted an array of sporting and cultural events, including The Tour of Britain, Spectra: Scotland’s festival of light, and the Nuart Aberdeen street art festival.

KRISTIANSAND

Kristiansand is Norway’s southernmost city, founded in 1641, and it is one of Norway’s best examples of a well-preserved Renaissance city. Kristiansand has hosted The Tall Ships Races in 2010 and 2015 with both events the biggest and most successful ever organised in the city.

Esbjerg

The international fleet have visited Esbjerg in 1993, 2001, 2014 and 2018 – and most recently the city hosted for a fourth time during the Tall Ships Races 2022. The port is known as the “lifeblood of the city,” and both share the fundamental values of the Tall Ships Races and Sail Training International. To be returning again for the sixth time over 30 years on is a testament to Esbjerg’s ability to deliver truly world class events that deliver for trainees, ships and visitors alike.

Put your name to one of Europe’s longest running and largest annual maritime festivals – The Tall Ships Races.

Every Tall Ships Race and Regatta offers unique spirit, unrivalled spectacle and a powerful marketing platform… and the event’s powerful core values led to a Nobel Peace Prize nomination.

The Tall Ships Races change the lives of thousands of young people each year, the majority of whom have never sailed before. Taking part in a sail training voyage helps young people grow in confidence, discover hidden strengths and develop the skills they need to succeed in their adult lives.

If you are a Tall Ship operator, welfare professional, National Sail Training Organisation, or simply interested in raising awareness of The Tall Ships Races as an opportunity for young people, we have created a handy presentation toolkit to help.

Below you can download the full presentation, or a condensed pdf version, to help you engage with schools and other organisations.

If you are interested in discussing other ways of promoting The Tall Ships Races as an opportunity for young people, please contact vanessa.mori@sailtraininginternational.org for further details.
